OM Productions International has been
serving the Bronzeville Community for almost
40 years. OM was founded by the late
filmmaker and community activist Oshunyomi
Mugwana. Her vision was to preserve and
promote the rich heritage of Bronzeville here in
Chicago and throughout the world.
We know the community well and understand
the vast treasure trove of cultural, political and
economic accomplishments that have come out
of this dynamic community. We have seen
firsthand the hard work and dedication that
residents have invested in making Bronzeville
one of the premiere communities in America.
Yet the local and national news would have
us believe that we live in a gang-infested
hell-hole with little hope for better days. This
gross distortion mus not go unchallenged. The
South and West Sides of Chicago have
challenges just like any community in a large
urban area, However, the positive far, far
outweighs the negative.
OM Productions International is committed to
helping local organizations and residents tell
their incredible stories to the world as a direct
counterweight to the deliberate narrative that
seeks to undermine the further growth and
development of Bronzeville and the black
community in general.
